2. How personal data is collected, processed and used

a. How personal data is collected, processed and used when you use our webpage without entering personal information You can visit our webpage without giving any personal information. We save nothing other than the impersonal access data transmitted to us by your web browser, even if your visit comes via a newsletter link. This data tells us:

  • the type/version of browser used
  • the operating system used
  • the referrer URL (the previously visited page)
  • the host name of the accessing computer (IP address)
  • the time of the server query
  • the duration of your visit and the subpages chosen.

This data is analysed for the sole purpose of improving our content and does not enable us to draw any conclusions as to your identity. The analysis is performed by the web tracking tools we use, the operator of which receives the data for the purpose of analysis. For the particulars of this analysis we refer you to item 7 below.

b. How personal data is collected, processed and used when you place orders in our online shop

If you place an order in our online shop, we collect, save and process your data in order to fulfil your order and to process any later warranty claims. We use it also for advertising purposes. We collect the personal data you submit to us when you order products, open a customer account, or register for our newsletter. We save your data for the purpose of contractual performance and disclose it to third parties, particularly to financial institutions or carriers, when contractual performance so requires, primarily to process your payment of the purchase price and to deliver your order.

We may also provide our affiliated companies with address data for marketing purposes if you do not opt out of such disclosure when your data is collected. No personal data is otherwise sold, rented or disclosed to persons or entities outside our group of companies.

2. Your right to oppose the use of your data for advertising purposes or for market or opinion research

You can, of course, opt out of further use of your data for advertising or marketing purposes at any time, even when such use is lawful without your consent (as, for example, in advertising by mail), by sending us a simple message, for which there is no cost to you other than the cost of transmission at the basic rates. This advice does not in any way imply consent on your part to the use of your data for advertising purposes. Please direct your opt-out request to the office responsible for data protection according to item 1.

3. Your right to information

You have a right to receive information about your stored data at any time and free of charge and, should any such data be incorrect, to have the data in question corrected, blocked or, if necessary, deleted. Please contact the office responsible for data protection according to item 1.

4. Consent to the use of your e-mail address

If you have expressly given your consent to any of the following, please note that you can revoke your consent at any time with future effect.

a. E-mail advertising (with a newsletter subscription) If you have signed up separately for our newsletter, we shall use your e-mail address for our own advertising purposes until you unsubscribe from the newsletter. You may unsubscribe at any time and at no cost to you other than the transmission costs at the basic rates. You may also revoke at any time, with future effect, your consent to the storage and use of your e-mail address for advertising purposes. There is no cost to you for doing so other than the transmission costs at the basic rate.

b. E-mail advertising (without a newsletter subscription) Unless you opted out when entering your e-mail address during the ordering process, we shall use your e-mail address to send you on a regular basis information about products of ours that are similar to those you have ordered. This advice does not in any way imply consent on your part to the use of your e-mail address for advertising purposes. You may, rather, opt out of the use of your data for advertising purposes at any time—even when such use is lawful without your consent—at no cost to you other than the transmission costs at the basic rates.

5. Data security

During the payment process, your payment data is transmitted over the Internet in encrypted form. We have instituted technical and organisational measures to secure our website and other systems against loss, destruction, access, alteration, and the disclosure of your data by unauthorised persons. You should always treat your access information confidentially and close your browser window once you have finished communicating with us, especially if you share your computer with others.

6. Use of cookies

On our webpage we use what are referred to as “cookies”. Cookies are small files that are saved to your data storage medium and which store certain settings and data for exchange with our system through your browser. This storage helps us to personalise the webpage for you and makes it easier for you to use the webpage by, for example, including certain information you enter so that you do not have to enter it repeatedly. Your browser offers settings by which you can restrict the use of cookies. As a result of doing so, however, our content may no longer work for you or may do so to only a limited extent. The settings can also be used to delete cookies.

a. Session cookies Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser.

b. Long-term cookies We use cookies that remain on your hard drive. For your convenience they are set to expire on a date in the future. If you pay us another visit, it automatically recognises you as a returning visitor and remembers your preferred inputs and settings.

7. Web analytics

We use web analytics for statistical analysis of access data on an anonymous basis. This enables us to improve our content and our advertising.

a. E-tracker Technologies provided by etracker GmbH ( are used to collect and store data for marketing and optimisation purposes. This data is used to create user profiles under a pseudonym. Cookies may be used for this purpose (see item 6 above). The data collected by means of the etracker technologies is not used to establish the personal identity of visitors to this website or merged with personal data via the bearer of the pseudonym without the separately granted consent of the person concerned. Without prejudice to your right to bar us from using your personal data (see item 2 above), you may at any time opt out cancel all future collection or storage of your data by so notifying etracker GmbH directly. b. Google Analytics with the “anonymize IP” extension In addition, we use Google Analytics for web analysis. This is a service of Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies (see item 6 above). The information the cookie generates about your use of this webpage (including your IP address) is transmitted to and stored on a Google server in the U.S.A. Google observes the data protection provisions of the “U.S. Safe Harbor” agreement and is registered with the U.S. Department of Commerce’s “Safe Harbor” program. Google shall use this information to analyse your use of the website, to compile web traffic reports for us, and to perform other services for us associated with website and Internet use.

Google may transmit this information to third parties when the law so requires or the data is to be processed by third parties on behalf of Google. Google shall not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. You may prevent cookies from being installed by selecting the appropriate setting in your browser software; note, however, that doing so may prevent you from making full use of all of this website’s functions. If you do not want information about your webpage visit to be transmitted to Google Analytics, you can install a “deactivation add-on” for your browser. In addition, we have made settings whereby Google Analytics deletes the last part of the visitors’ IP addresses. This means that we do not receive data here from which one might be able to draw conclusions about your identity.

8. Use of Facebook’s social plugins

On our website we use what is referred to as a social plugin (“plugin”) from the social network Facebook. This is a service provided by the company Facebook Inc. Facebook is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave., Palo Alto, CA 94304, U.S.A. (“Facebook”). There is a summary of the plugins and what they look like here:

When you visit a page on our website that contains such a plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection to the servers of Google or Facebook. The content of the plugin is transmitted by its provider directly to your browser and integrated into the page. When the plugin is integrated in this manner, the provider receives the information that your browser has accessed the page in question on our website, even if you do not have a profile for the social network in question or are not logged in at the moment. Your browser sends this information (including your IP address) directly to a server of the provider in the U.S.A., where it is saved.

If you are logged into the social network, the provider can associate the visit to our website directly with your Facebook profile. If you interact with the plugin, for example by clicking on the “Like” button, the associated information is likewise sent directly to a server of the provider and saved on it. The information is also published on the social network and displayed there for your contacts to see.

To learn more about the purpose and scope of data collection, how the provider further processes and uses your data, your rights in that regard and settings you can use to protect your privacy, please consult the provider’s data protection policy. Facebook’s Data Use Policy: If you do not want Facebook to associate the data gathered through our website directly with your profile in the social network, then you must log out of the network before you visit our website.

You can prevent plugins from loading altogether by means of add-ons for your browser. The “Facebook Blocker” (, for example, shall prevent the Facebook plugin from loading.

9. Review later (Trusted Shops)

Perhaps you gave the following consent following your order: “I wish to review my purchase later and, once it has been delivered, to have Trusted Shops send me one e-mail reminder to submit a review. I may revoke my consent at any time.” If you have given us your express consent as it appears above, we shall send your e-mail address through the Trusted Shops seller review system to Trusted Shops GmbH, Subbelrather Strasse 15c, 50823 Cologne, so that it shall send you an e-mail message after seven days reminding you to submit a seller review for the product or service you purchased.
